Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 6, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use this website and its forms. Because our company is based in Spain but this book is also sold to readers in the United States, this policy is written to comply with both the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) / Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD), and with U.S. requirements such as the CAN-SPAM Act and, where applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Who is responsible for your data

Name: Silvia Toril
Tax ID (Spanish NIF): 18592638J
Address: Calle José Achotegui, 26, 01009 Vitoria-Gasteiz (Álava), Spain
Contact email: info@inkgeniumbooks.com

What do we use your data for?

When you leave your email on our sign-up form, we use it to:

  • Send you a confirmation email for your subscription (double opt-in).
  • Send you the access link to the case file / challenge linked to the book.
  • If you give us additional consent, send you updates about future books or challenges.

If you write to us by email or on social media, we will only use your details to reply to you.

To know how many people visit the site and which buttons are used (for example, «Buy on Amazon») we use two cookie-free statistics tools: one installed on our own server and Umami, an external service. Neither stores your IP address in a way that could identify you, and the data is anonymous and aggregated. If you don't want your visits to be counted, open the site adding /?no-contar to the address.

What is the legal basis for processing your data?

The legal basis is your consent, given by checking the corresponding box on the form before submitting it (GDPR Art. 6.1.a). For U.S. readers, this also serves as your affirmative opt-in for receiving commercial email under the CAN-SPAM Act. When you write to us, the legal basis is answering your own request.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep your data for as long as you remain subscribed, and in any case for the periods required by applicable law. You can request deletion at any time (see "Your rights" below).

Who do we share your data with?

Your data is hosted and managed through MailerLite (our email service provider), which acts as our data processor. You can review MailerLite's own privacy policy here. MailerLite may store data outside the European Economic Area, in which case it relies on the safeguards required by the GDPR (Standard Contractual Clauses). We do not sell or share your personal information with any third party for advertising purposes.

The site is hosted by Webempresa, our web hosting provider, which also acts as our data processor. We do not share your data with anyone else unless required by law.

CAN-SPAM Act compliance (U.S. readers)

Every marketing email we send will clearly identify itself as such, will include our physical mailing address (shown above), and will always include a working unsubscribe link. Any unsubscribe request will be honored within 10 business days, and you will never be charged for opting out.

Your rights under CCPA/CPRA (California residents)

If you are a California resident, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, request its deletion, and opt out of its "sale" or "sharing." In good faith transparency: based on our size and the volume of data we process, we likely do not meet the revenue or data-volume thresholds that make the CCPA/CPRA mandatory for our business — but we honor these rights for all readers regardless. We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Your rights (GDPR / general)

You have the right to access, rectify, and delete your data, as well as other rights (restriction, objection, portability) by writing to info@inkgeniumbooks.com. You can also unsubscribe at any time using the link included at the bottom of every email we send you, with no need to justify your reason.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, EU/Spanish residents have the right to file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es). U.S. readers with concerns about unwanted commercial email may also contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) at ftc.gov.

Note: this policy is provided as a good-faith, plain-language summary and is not a substitute for legal advice. If your book sales or data volume grow significantly in the U.S., we recommend having this policy reviewed by a lawyer familiar with U.S. privacy law.
